Claire was born on March 5, 1942 in McKeesport Pa. She received her RN degree from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 and was working as a county health nurse for Allegheny County, PA when she and Jim met on a blind date in December, 1964. They were married in Whitehall, PA on July 31, 1965. While Claire subsequently worked in the nursing field as both a hospital nurse and nurse staffing administrator in Pittsburgh and Cleveland respectively, she gave primary attention to home and family. She was inordinately proud of her daughter and son and was absolutely thrilled to become a grandmother to two superlative boys. Claire's artistic talents are seen in her beautiful needlework and her competitive spirit was exercised at the bridge table as a member of the Hudson Establishment. She was an avid reader of good books and stocked the home with many overflowing bookcases. Claire's health had been a challenge for her for most of her adult life. She bore her various illnesses and ailments with great determination and fortitude. She was a fierce fighter and a caring wife and mother. We miss her dearly.

Claire and I were public health nurses together over 50 years ago and our families became the best of friends, sharing lives together at holidays and even camping (in the snow). She was a dear friend and will be greatly missed. God bless Jim, Heather and Matt. I love you all. Ruth Ann
